Notice on the use of cookies

Otéra deems it essential to inform you in a clear and transparent manner about the use of cookies before you browse this Site. This Notice on the use of cookies describes the data that Otéra is likely to collect and how it will be used. Otéra shall not collect any information that could identify you by name, directly or indirectly, unless you voluntarily provide it by filling out the appropriate forms.

Terms that are not defined in the main text of this Notice are defined in APPENDIX 1: DEFINITIONS.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a set of data stored on the hard drive of your terminal (computer, tablet, mobile) through the browser software when you consult an online service. Cookies are widely used by websites. They guarantee their operation or improve navigation, and also provide certain information, in particular in terms of audience measurement, to the owners of these sites.

Cookies do not cause any damage to the terminal, but make it easier, for example, to retrieve preferences, to pre-fill certain fields and to adapt the content of services of the site visited. This data allows us to improve the ergonomics and services according to your interests.

2. What types of cookies do we use?

Information collected through cookies helps us analyze the use of the Site and allows us to provide users with a better experience during their visit. We will retain cookies only for as long as necessary to fulfill the relevant purposes set forth in this Notice, including for statistical purposes.

In general, we use first party and third-party cookies that can be either per session or persistent. The cookies we use are called "first-party cookies" and the cookies used by our partners and third-party service providers are called "third-party cookies".

  • Session cookies: Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain on your device until you close your Web browser. Many session cookies are essential to the proper functioning of our Site, as they generally allow you to navigate on our Site and use our features.

  • Persistent cookies: Persistent cookies remain on your device after you close your browser or until you manually delete them (in the former case, the duration of the cookie depends on the lifespan of the specific cookie and your browser settings). Persistent cookies help us recognize you as an existing user of our Site. This makes it easier and more convenient to return to our Site or interact with our services without having to log in again. In addition, persistent cookies also help us to recognize you when you view a resource owned by our Site from another website or application (such as an advertisement) and help us record information about your Web browsing habits during the lifespan of the persistent cookie.

3. How do we use cookies?

  • Preference cookies: Preference cookies enable us to remember information that affects the behaviour or appearance of the Site, such as your preferred language, the region you are in, video and audio settings.

  • Statistics cookies: Statistical cookies enable us to understand how visitors interact with our Site by collecting and reporting information in an anonymous manner.

Analytics tools and other third-party technologies

We use analytics tools and other third-party technologies, such as Google Analytics

  • Why do we use them? To automatically collect information of a non-personal nature. Among other things, the Site uses Google Analytics to understand how users use the Site. For example, this allows us to analyze traffic on the Site or to determine its future direction, including any required upgrade.

  • How does it work? Information generated by Google Analytics cookies about the use of the Site is transmitted to Google. This information is then processed to compile statistical reports about activity on the Site only.

  • How to activate them (opt in)? You may choose to install the browser add-on available at the following address, in order to activate Google Analytics and enable your activity data to be transmitted.

Other operations that could be carried out with this data: Anonymous data from Google Analytics may be shared with other Google services, which may use this data to contextualize and personalize ads in its own advertising network. Otéra reserves the right to perform statistical analyses using the data collected through the Site on an anonymous and aggregated basis in order to assess interest in and use of the Site. Otéra reserves the right to provide its anonymous and aggregated data analyses to any third party.

For your information only, a list of the first party and third-party cookies is available in Appendix 2.

4. How to accept or decline the use of cookies?

To manage cookies and your choices, each browser has a different configuration. It is described in the Help menu of your browser, which will indicate how to change your preferences regarding cookies. Any settings you choose might affect your browsing experience and your access to certain services that require the use of cookies.

You may set your devices to accept all cookies, to notify you when a cookie is issued, or to decline all cookies. However, the latter may limit your access to some personalized services and, as a result, you may not be able to take full advantage of all the features offered on the Site.

If you do not wish to receive cookies in general, or wish to decline only certain cookies, you can change your browser settings appropriately.

Instructions are available on the website of each browser:

For any other browser not mentioned above, you may consult cookies management tools available on the Internet.
